The HMT has a Common Base Platform (CBP) available in 4×4, 6×6 and modified to an ‘Extenda’ configuration, HMTs have developed a reputation as formidable off-road vehicles, which can be equipped with your mission system of choice.
Since its introduction into service in 2004, the HMT base vehicle has been adapted in various configurations for many specialist roles.
The HMT 400, HMT 600 and HMT Extenda platforms provide the base vehicle on which a range of mission or role requirements can be integrated. The HMT’s open architecture provides for various levels of protection and great variety in the roles and missions for which it can be configured. The hamper is designed as a modular system to enable rapid conversion for a variety of missions.
There are now close to 1000 in service worldwide.
HMT Platform Wheelbase Configurations
All HMT platforms can be supplied with an optional mine blast and ballistic protection kit and can be fitted with a variety of mission hampers, weapons, communications, ISTAR and force protection equipment to suit a wide range of operational roles.
HMT 400 (4×4)
The HMT 400 is termed the Jackal by the British Army. It is well-proven in the harsh terrain of the Afghanistan battlefield, the 400 has a unique air suspension system that allows the selection of a variable ride height to match the terrain and also, enable internal loading within CH-47 Chinook.
In 2024, a new version of the HMT 4×4 (HMT Mk3) was created, following an Ministry of Defence order for 70 vehicles. This latest iteration offers enhanced capabilities compared to its previous versions, showcasing advancements in design, development, and manufacturing.
