HMT Armoured Closed Cab
The HMT Armoured Closed Cab (HMT ACC) supports the Land Mobility Programme’s fleet reduction to 15 core platform chassis types by 2030.
The HMT is a globally renowned platform, which has been adopted into Special Forces and Defence Forces vehicle fleets around the world, this latest adaption of the HMT ACC builds upon two decades of spiral development.
The HMT ACC variant prioritises crew protection while maintaining commonality with other HMT variants. The 4-person cab is designed to provide blast and ballistic protection and can accommodate crew members of various sizes (5th percentile Female to 95th percentile Male crew), ensuring a safe and comfortable operating environment.
This vehicle serves as a mobility platform for integration of complex mission systems and is crewed by a Commander, Driver, and two Mission System Operators. It meets Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) requirements, allowing for the integration of different complex Mission Systems. With a payload capacity of around 4000 kg, integrated blast and ballistic armour, and easy integration of Mission Systems, the HMT ACC enhances protection, payload, and mobility on the battlefield.
As part of the HMT family of vehicles, the HMT ACC inherits operational reliability, ease of maintenance, and common spare parts, minimising the training and logistic burden and supporting whole fleet chassis type reduction efforts. It can fulfil various roles such as Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD), Battle Group Organic Anti-Armour (BGOAA), Ambulance, Recovery Vehicle, or Troop Carrier, providing a diverse capability without the need to expand the fleet.
