Engineering Product Assurance Manager
Nigel joined the company in 2003 as part of the production team where he progressed quickly into a key role overseeing quality and ensuring continuity of build and process implementation on internal and external build programmes. In 2010 he moved across into the Engineering Department to fulfil the role of Through Life Support and Change Control Manager following which he was promoted to Head of Operations.
Having successfully restructured the operational side of Supacat business to allow commencement of the largest production project to date, Nigel was selected for secondment to Australia as Technical Liaison where he instigated build lines across the continent, both for final assembly and delivery to customers of UK built rolling chassis in Sydney and the creation of a chassis fabrication and build facility in Perth, WA.
Upon the formation of SC Group in September 2015, Nigel was appointed Head of Supplier Performance to provide senior level interface between SC Group and the group’s supply chain. Managing relationships while working together with the suppliers to create commercial and operational efficiencies, implementing tailored practices and processes, monitoring performance and problem solving. Most recently Nigel has returned to the Engineering department as Engineering Product Assurance Manager. In this role, Nigel will remain as the primary senior point of contact for all current and potential new suppliers, ensuring that Design intent is maintained and achievable.
Nigel qualified as a Mechanical Engineer through an Armed Forces Apprenticeship at the REME Princess Marina College, Arborfield. Following graduation, he served at home and abroad before returning to the civilian sector gaining experience in a variety of engineering disciplines.
